*..::The First Day Of School...::..*
cheers! well, today's the first day of school in 2003. the canteen was very crowded when we arrived in the morning, and after morning assembly, we proceeded to the hall for Praise & Worship, theme song, classroom arrangement etc. Then my form teacher, Mrs Selina Lum, and Mrs Chew, my co-tutor came. went back to class after recess to vote for our class monitresses and subject monitresses, and discussed our class motto within our groups and Mrs Lum went round to check our hair.

Mrs Lum needed two MRL/IT monitresses and had actually wanted girls who were in the MRL club. but there wasn't any in our class so she asked for girls in my club. then siti shouted out my name and i also told cheryl to raise up her hand. thus both of us are the class MRL/IT monitresses!

the sitting partner was Andrea. then when hui wen came in Mrs Lum had to rearrange the sitting positions so that the prefects won't be sitting together. so i changed my seat and sat with hui wen. the prefects would be rather busy these few days for the sec one orientation, and would not be in class for most of the time.

stayed back for cca to do up the banner and prepare the souvenirs for this sat's sec one cca fair. started on our souvenirs at first then proceeded to start on our banner. whoa...didn't know that with sooo many people helping around, the banner was soon almost completed! the thing left to do tomorrow is to paint the mouse and outline the letters. then something happened...i accidentally sat on a part of floor where there was some patches of white paint which hadn't dried! and my pinafore is a new one and it was the first time i wore it! limin also got it, and our pinafores had patches of white that we had to wash them at the sink! i even took out my pinafore to wash and placed it under the fan so that it could dry faster. was much better when it dried by the time the session ended at 4.30pm. just hope that the marks would be cleared! =)

*..::iTz New Year's Eve! My New Year's Resolutions...::..*
how time flies. the year is coming to an end in a few hours' time and soon it'll be the year 2003! a new year with a new fresh start...well, here's my New Year's resolutions...:

#1 ~ Be more tolerant. I've got to try to not let some things distract and irritate me easily.

#2 ~ Be more organised. I should not be doing things last-minute, but be all ready and prepared beforehand. Well, it's always best not to rush things out...

#3 ~ Smile more and be friendlier & more socialable. =D

Monday 30/12:
*..::"we've got the paint, strings, shapes...oh yar! the straws! so there's only the banner cloth left..."::..*
went to school for cca at 10am. only saw clarissa and limin outside the art room trying to open up the door with the keys. then clarissa went back to return them. then we waited for abt half an hour before diana and charmaine came up after their meeting. only 7 of us today...cos' jean had a slight fever, cheryl had a high fever, while some went on holiday. and clarissa said she had diarrhoea the day before, limin and vanessa had some flu, and diana had sore throat...wah...so many pple not feeling well!

oh well, i drew up my plan for the cca banner with the maze as the background...and it was approved and chosen!! - yay! - then the whole group proceeded to heartland mall to buy the strings & shapes...while my team had to pay for our own paints. clarissa also went to collect 22 straws from Yoshinoya and KFC. hahaz...=)

Friday 27/12:
*..::EsCaPe.....
.....wooo....arghhhhh!! woosh...splash!!....::..*
dad drove my mum, sis and i to the Pasir Ris Escape Theme Park where we met siti at the entrance at 11.45am. our first stop: the bowling alley. well...i wasn't sure what my shoe size was, so i ended up changing shoes so many times! from 8 [where i felt it was too loose]...to 7 [slightly loose]...then 5 [wah...a big change...but oops...too tight!]...and alas, the perfect 6!!

it was the 2nd time i bowled, so i wasn't tat good yet. started the first few bowls with lokang...and my mum kept giving me tips...and was quite exasperated when the balls kept going to the sides and the 'drain' that she wanted to try her turn. let her wear my bowling shoes and...well...she was quite good at it! she helped me raise up the score to catch up with siti's. my sis would sometimes help siti to get the ball into the lokang...hahaz...=D well, in the end of the first 2 games, i had a score of 40 while siti scored 53. then we sorta weren't much satisfied yet...so we had another game. this time i had some improvement, after the few bowls at first to warm up and practise. and the amazing thing was i actually striked an X during the middle of the game! - cheerios! - =)

went to lunch at the food court. then walked around the place while waiting for niu jin to come. she was supposed to come at 2.15pm on schedule, but was held up and told me tat she could only come at 2.45pm. after some waiting, i decided to go ahead first to buy the tickets and play some games, but halfway through the queue i saw the notice tat said 5% off ticket price when u show your Ericsson mobile phone with a working phone line. then changed our mind and went out of the queue to wait for her since she had an Ericsoon phone. but when she showed her phone to the counter, the lady told us that her phone model has to be one of those listed on the booklet which she later flashed to us!! well nevermind, soon niu jin with her younger cousin, siti, my sis & i were in the theme park, while my mum stayed outside to spend her own time...

before entering, we learnt that the Panasonic Rollercoaster would be on mechanic check for the whole day, so we didn't have the chance to experience the ride. our first stop at the theme park was the Viking. before sitting for any rides, siti & i both agreed to scream for fun, even though the ride may not be scary. closed my eyes and screamed all the way. then proceeded to the Family Rollercoaster. well, it was faster than the Viking.

next was the Pepsi! quickly ran to get a seat & sat with siti while my sis sat with niu jin [her cousin didn’t dare to take the ride]. closed my eyes when the ride started, and after a few moments i decided to open up my eyes. then i found tat i was at the top! [later my sis also told me tat she had the same experience] yikes…so i shut my eyes again. then i felt the machine forcing me to face down…that i thought tat at tt moment i was going to fall off!! my whole body was leaning against the safety bars and i held on very tightly. then the next thing was that i felt being pushed backwards. hahaz…siti and i were screaming all the way [even though it wasn’t really needed] woa…the ride so really thrilling…that i felt a little dizzy afterwards.

sat on a bench with my sis while waiting for siti to buy her drink and niu jin & her cousin to grab a bite. then siti came back groaning that the vending machine ate up her 10-cent coin when she put 2 of them in! [but later she bought mineral water at $2.50. she told me that our school sells it at only 50 cents & she couldn’t believe it.]

next stop: the Daytona Go-Kart. niu jin, my sis & i were the participants, as siti and jia hui didn’t want to take the ride. then the man told us that we could only ride once, if not we would have to buy a second ticket of $4. niu jin took the 3rd car, my sis took the 4th, and i wanted the last car [so i would not be banged at the back, but my sis told me that i had to be patient as she would drive rather slowly…well, i don’t mind!] the moment i sat on the car, i felt SO much vibrations! and as we drove up the spiral block, my hands were shaking so much due to the vibrations! then i somehow felt that the car was getting a bit slow, but i didn’t really take notice of it at that time.

just at the end of the spiral block and before i was going to drive down the slope, the car just STOPPED! the engine was still running, because i was pushing the accelerator. the next move that i intended to make, naturally, was to get out of the car…BUT just as i started to lift off the accelerator, the car would move backwards…because it was all slope behind! so i immediately pressed on the accelerator back again, before the car could move back any more. it was simply so scary! i didn’t know what else to do other than to shout for HELP, but i guess no one could hear me, as i was at a rather far end from anyone. then i thought that my last resort would be to quickly climb out of the car and leave it to slide away [and i guess it would crash?]…but just as i put my left leg out to get ready, smoke began to come out from the left boot of the car. can u imagine it? SMOKE? Then the smoke came more and more, and i could smell the dangerous fumes. – yucks! – i slided my left leg back into the car and shifted my body more to the right to avoid the smoke. and i felt that the car was gradually moving backwards a little by little at a few intervals of time. how frightening the situation was! the first few drivers then came driving past me, and i shouted out to niu jin, but she was too engrossed in her driving that she practically ignored me. then i stopped another girl and asked her to inform those guys in charge down there. after she drove off, i also asked my sis to do the same.

soon one man came and pushed the car. i immediately told him to stop while i came out of the car. how could he have not known that it was so dangerous that i should come out of the car, instead of letting him push me down the slope? so after i came out, i told him, “Why don’t you sit in the car while i push u?” well…he ended up pushing the kart down the slope while i walked down. then the lady asked me if i was alright…well…since i managed to walk down safely, i should be fine right? and she asked if I wanted another ride, of course I rejected it. i mean…after all this shock, do u still expect me to go for another of it again straightaway?

then niu jin, jia hui, siti and i were off to the Wet & Wild [my sis didn’t ride on it as she didn’t want to change her clothes]. the queue was rather long, and sometimes while waiting we didn’t even know that the queue had moved so much forward! - hahz- niu jin & jia hui took the first boat that arrived, while siti & i were next. then the boat started moving forward…and i could smell the chlorine in the water! after some time of gentle movement, we were soon being brought up to a slide. though it wasn’t that long, the way down was fast & thrilling enough that it sent us screaming. and woosh! the water landed on both of us. i was wetter than siti, as my bermudas could even collect a small puddle of water! then we were on our way for the bigger slide…which was very much longer [about 4 times the length and very steep too] than the first one. suddenly i heard niu jin in front calling out to us and mumbling something, but we couldn’t really make out was it was. then after a while we were brought up to the bigger slide. woa…the sound of the gears were so loud… that siti and i couldn’t quite hear each other when we talked. siti told me that maybe it was supposed to be loud & break the silence as some people would be very quiet.

we were then at the peak. I closed my eyes…and then…wham! my heart sanked as we slided down the steep slope at a very fast speed. then when we landed…I opened my eyes and was feeling rather relieved. and suddenly…SPLASH!!! my shirt & bermudas was all WET! [and my hair had some droplets of water too] siti & I were just recovering from all these excitement when we saw a GIANT WAVE…haha…no larh…it wasn’t THAT giant…but it was quite big enough for me to get… … and WOOSH!! my back was so wet! at first I thought that both of us would get wet…but I didn’t expect myself to be sooo much wetter than siti, who didn’t really suffer much of that wave. oh well…we had fun…

we headed for the shop [just beside] to have a look at the photo taken during our ride [there was actually a camera somewhere along the channel]. I saw niu jin & jia hui’s photo, and I thought of snapping it at the tv outside. But I found the photos to be different…and by the time I went back…they told me that it was already over. Arghh!! Why didn’t anyone tell me to quickly get inside??!! later we heard that niu jin was shouting that jia hui’s eyes were red…[why?]..becos’ she was afraid of the way down the bigger slide that she cried. [oh I see…]

went to ride the Viking once more, and this time, i felt that it wasn’t as thrilling as the first ride I had. wanted to get the end seats, but they were quickly occupied. now i opened my eyes all the while…and the guys at the back started to say wooo when the ride started. then siti and I screamed as we were going forward. and went we were brought backward, the guys again made the wooo…so it went on like this for the whole ride. and the people in front of us then raised their hands and waved. hahax…=Pp

our last ride was the Family Rollercoaster. just wanted to ride it again before we left. my heart didn’t really feel ticklish when the rollercoaster rushed down the slope, but it was more of the later part of the ride where it twisted here…and there…vigorously…which was more exciting. didn't ride the Cadbury though…was too afraid after seeing those peeps shouting and screaming up there during the swings. siti was persuading me to sit, but I didn’t want to. none of the others wanted to too…haha…we were also contented and happy [having enjoyed ourselves so much] already….my father drove niu jin, jia hui, my mum, sis and I back…and after a while we saw siti walking along the pavement. YuPz...so we waved…=D

siti called when I was in the bathroom, while when I called her back later she was in the bathroom…wahaha….then later when I called again after dinner we were discussing about my tremor of the Go-Kart Ride. siti was saying that those peeps in charge of the ride weren’t attentive and responsible. here I agree, they needed to be informed that I was stuck up there! and before my ride…when I was queueing up, I saw them chatting among themselves and not taking notice of the number of drivers who drove past. they should have actually known that when only 4 out of 5 cars arrived after the first round, they had to go check it out. and nobody actually checked the cars after the previous batch had finished their ride. siti commented that the maintenance there was very poor…true…I saw only ONE man topping up the petrol for the karts at one corner.

I feel that there should be some people stationed at the spiral block and the slope at the far end, where standing at the queue would be impossible to see anything going around there. well…the car should also be condemned. hope those people would be more careful and efficient after this incident…=)

hahaz…really had a fun day today. it was full of excitement, thrill, screams, laughter, peace and joy throughout that afternoon. and I was glad that it didn’t rain, though it seemed that it was going to when we were at the entrance. at that time, my sis was saying “ahh…it’s going to rain!”…then niu jin told us that when u say that…it would sometimes come out otherwise! Wahaha…=D
