hmmm. my days since the start of the year, and also ever since work started (i.e. from the later part of nov last year, yes), have been rather eventful. and perhaps enriching too. albeit the fact that i'm actually seeing groups of children for hours every day! lol :) it's so fun. and today, like any of those days (mostly), i found myself lol-ing inside myself, smiling throughout the sessions. thoroughly enjoyable i must say. i love my job =))
this, and also the fact that i've got concession in working flexible hours. which allows me to go out, shop, meet up with friends, catch movies etc. in the middle of the day, before getting (or rather, sometimes, rushing :) ) back to work. realised i haven't said anything about my work till now on my blog. haha. cos it's much more pleasurable talking about it and all the many incidents and funny things that happen during it to my friends in person. and re-enacting what some of the kids did. in their own innocent ways, which may appear very amusing to us.
one thing (amongst several, as usual) that happened today:
hilary, this lil baby (about 4 years old i suppose), wanted to go to the loo during the lesson but the teacher didn't allow her to cos she said "you're all supposed to go to the toilet before class right.." then after the following exercise they did about rising up to their toes and getting down, in this activity coined as "peeking into neighbour's garden", the teacher would routinely ask the kids what they saw in "their neighbours' garden".
some would say "i saw the king sitting on his throne". others, "i see space.. (teacher responding that it was quite boring)" and stuff. kids are somewhat creative, really. there're zillions of other incidents that support this and show just how CUTE lil children really are. i seriously enjoy being with them (:
anyway, i digressed. haha. so when it came to hilary's turn...
teacher: you must have seen the toilet there in the garden right
hilary: *shakes head* i saw lion king
teacher: ohh! lion king on the toilet bowl! *laughs*
hilary: *nods* (with zilch idea that the teacher's pulling her leg)
lol. uber innocent yeah. and it's sooo heartening elevating warm nice a feeling you get when they smile at you (yes, even those who didn't really know you yet), wave at you to say bye-bye.. aah :))
All problems become smaller if you don't dodge them, but confront them. Touch a thistle timidly, and it pricks you; grasp it boldly, and its spines crumble.
