Happy New Year 2005!!: whooaaaa!!! it's the NEW YEAR!! :))) took the bus to aljunied mrt and got to eunos mrt from there via train. was early and reached there at 1.45pm and waited. after 2pm i saw this girl wearing the SD t-shirt and i went up to her. soon after many others came around ‘cause it’s easy to spot our members since she was wearing this tee. waited a while more for the others to come and debrah, min ling and i followed jia yang in his car together with meng leng, and he drove us to her house at telok kurau while the others took bus 13. after everyone settled down in the house food was served. i didn’t eat much, just some fries and jelly. hahah everyone was sitting on the floor like the japanese and it was also felt like a picnic. after the food we introduced ourselves seated in a big circle and the further the person was from the starting person the more names he/she had to remember the names ‘cause it was cumulative!! played whacko, and then we formed 4 groups and we had to remember one another’s occupation, fav. colour, fav. food, ambition and chapter as we would be quizzed after that. next a paper with a cartoon character’s name on it would be pasted at our backs and we had to guess our character by asking others questions. haha i was told my character was in the same group as “big bird”, so i felt it could be elmo. so the first question i asked someone was if it was red, and yes it was! ahah so it’s “elmo”!! ;)) hahah the assistant SD chief’s “character” was his own name!! so he had some problem guessing what it was, among others, who in the end had to forfeit (together with group 1 because of the quiz game) by singing a song. the last game was the “supermarket game”. guys were worth 10c each, girls 20c each, while guys with specs were 30c each and girls with specs 40c each. really had fun this afternoon and we laughed a lot, and after everything i took the train home with min ling… ;)))

Thursday 30 Dec 2004: went to northpoint with my family and had fish ramen for dinner there. then we drove to PA at 7.15pm and i joined in the warm-up. learnt more steps and this time the 2 guys came back to our group again. anyway, my small group of 6 from formation 2 has different people now. pei qi didn’t come today. training today was fine too. had some fun and laughters also. hahah. :)

Wednesday 29 Dec 2004: well didn’t do much today. the weather’s been very nice and comfortable these past two days, so cool and breezy. :) and today’s temperature is 23-27 C. so it’s pretty good to stay at home while enjoying the last few days of the school holidays! watched shark tale in the afternoon and though some people say the show’s not nice, i thought it was rather okay, but my mum feels finding nemo is still better and i agree. hahah lenny is so cute!! and i like that part when he said: i'm a vegetarian. =P after that we played the playstation and it really got very excited that we became excited at times. hahah. hadn’t been playing it for quite some time and my mum’s score improved a lot (her score rose from 20 000+ to 41 000!) cheers for mum! hahah. as for Monday 27 Dec 2004: took the bus to pasir ris mrt with jasmine at 12.30pm to meet serene and all the others at simei mrt station. there were 11 of us altogether. from eastpoint mall we took bus 9 to melville park. watched princess diaries 2 at 2pm before some of us played badminton while 6 of the others went swimming at 4pm. was rather windy at that time so diane, tiffany and i couldn’t really play much. hahah it’s really been some time since we played badminton. :) anyhow, it soon started drizzling and we went back to serene’s house (it really looked like some hotel!). then jerilyn, alethea, long and i shared ONE umbrella under the rain and walked to the table tennis room, just to find that it’s being used (we checked just now before they swam but the room was used by somebody else). so we walked over to a bbq pit and got into the shelter where there was a round table. haha it may seem impossible at first but we could really play quite comfortably on it!! jeri and alethea played the first game of 11 rounds, and jeri won. then long played with jeri who won again. and next alethea and long had to play with each other to compete for the “bronze title”!! hahah. alethea got it. and it was my turn to play against jeri. hah jeri said i played like the korean (forgot whether she’s north or south korean) ‘cause i sort of kept playing to wear down her patience. haha that’s what she said. ah she also said my hand was rather long too, when i stretched to hit the ball! haha. really had a fun time then. the competition got rather “intense” when jeri and i got 10-10. well in the end she won 11-10. really a close match. then i played with alethea and i won. yay! so jeri got champion, i won the “silver”, while alethea got the “bronze”! cheers for all!! ;)) got back and the bbq soon started and everyone was bringing things down to the pit. a few of us tried starting the fire but this kind malay man whose family was occupying the pit next to ours came to help us and told us to break our charcoal into smaller pieces. we had sotongballs from jas, sambal stingray from siti, chicken wings, chili sotongs, fish, fishballs, prawns and otah from serene (thanks!), corn from ho ying, sweet potatoes from diane, butter, honey and mamee from jeri, chips from alethea, marshmallows and jelly from tiffany, sausages from long, fried bee hoon from cheryl, and fruit cocktail and peaches from me!! :)) whoa we were sooo full after all the food manz! especially jeri who kept saying she’s full! hahah. rained a little during the bbq, but fortunately we had a shelter and those who bbq-ed could carry an umbrella. got back to serene’s house after that and we watched celebrity deathmatch on central at 10pm. siti’s favourite. haha some of the others said it was too violent and gross! then a few left and jas, long, jeri and i took auntie jessie’s car (my mum also came with her) home… ;)))))

Sunday 26 Dec 2004: siti called in the morning while i was having breakfast. she said she had a terrible nightmare where her family was taking a cruise back home from thailand. she felt it all seemed so real and logical, since her mum had always wanted to go to thailand. then suddenly everything came crashing down at the place and people were running about for their lives. they ran and didn’t care about their own family members, and she said it was just like that in her muslim studies that when people are in serious danger or a disaster they would just care for their own lives. she looked up the internet to interpret her dream, and one website told her that her dream meant that she should leave her past behind and embrace the future, while another site told her she was afraid of her future. so i told her that she was quite paranoid and should just overcome her fear of her future and try embracing it. well i later watched running on karma and I, robot with my family. ate an early dinner at 4.40pm before leaving to meet amanda on the bus. hahah she kept hurrying me and saying that i was late, and that i made her rush like mad to the bus stop when i was only just about to leave the house! well we reached PA at 6.10pm and the warm-up was just over. at first there were only the four of us in the group and many others hadn’t arrived at that time yet, so the whole formation somehow looked weird. hahah. well our group always had some people coming in later ‘cause they were working. anyway we learnt more steps, now into the costume part. then later 2 guys from our group had to switch to another group, and when we practised after that it was so confusing due to the slightly different arrangement that everyone in our small group during formation 2 missed the beat and didn’t know where to go so it was quite luan. and i don’t know who stepped on my foot during that “confusion”!! aiyah it was just very “chaotic” lah. anyway after the session the 3 of us went into this indian roti prata shop as the desiree and amanda wanted some supper, before we headed home… and oh yar siti messaged me to tell me about the earthquake and to watch the news, and was so freaked out by it, mainly because it was just like her dream and the disaster really happened. whoa…really freaky man…well, let’s all just pray for all the tsunami victims and the recovery of the injured, and rebuilding of the affected countries.

Saturday 25 Dec 2004: basically watched tv with my family in the afternoon and my sis was super excited to watch the golden horse award on channel 8 as she wanted to catch daniel wu receiving his best supporting actor award! hahah then i left at 5.20pm and reached tampines mrt at exactly 6pm! waited for serene (who was late by 10 mins) and we walked over to tampines mall. woa the whole place was really ren shan ren hai (very crowded with people) and it was difficult to move properly!! finally found a place where the food’s not too ex or full of people and dined at pasta mania. serene ordered this spaghetti with mussels and wanted it with tomato sauce but it came creamy so she had to change it. i had chicken bolognese, and with added cheese and black pepper it was super yummy!! ;) the cheese was very tasty (compared to that in other places where the cheese didn’t have much taste) too! haha just love the cheese! anyway siti and her pri.5 cousin soon came out from the cinema after watching kung fu hustle which she said was very good, funny and nice. the mall was still very packed after we had eaten and walked to starbucks for a quieter environment to discuss about the upcoming bbq bash this monday. accomplished some stuff, and we walked around the mall as well as metro to look around. got home at about 10.40pm…

Friday 24 Dec 2004: met tiffany at the bus stop and we headed to nearby cheryl’s house to meet her. then we took the bus down to parkway parade to meet serene and lunched at mac’s. then cheryl asked if we would like to have a sort of an x’mas party and after agreeing all the ideas just came in. this reminded me of what siti had said to me yesterday on the phone. she had suggested going to her house in the morning to watch a vcd while we baked some bread in between the show and then have steamboat for lunch. then we would go to the nearby pasir ris park and while we cycled she would sit down and have her own “picnic”! and she suddenly exclaimed “why are all these ideas coming to us when the holidays are already going to end??!” but she couldn’t make it today as she later said that her cousins were coming that day. anyway, we walked to the underpass to east coast park and rented mountain bikes for 2 hours (2-4pm). tiffany was going to learn how to cycle and after some struggling at the beginning the owner of the bicycle rental shop who saw us told us to come and there he taught her how to cycle. and wow there’s this one time when upon some guidance she went quite a distance!! so basically throughout the day we cycled and also waited for tiffany who kept trying. could really see that she put in effort ‘cause her face became quite red!! well at last her efforts kind of paid off when she managed to cycle quite a bit for some distances here and there before we returned our bikes. in between i bought an orange-flavoured ice-cream and it was so refreshing. after our biking session tiffany and i shared a giant slurpee and it was thirst-quenching and really cooled us down. then we took the bus to parkway while cheryl left for home, and serene left after buying her x’mas cards from life bookshop. tiffany then bought hamster food and some dog biscuits for her pet hamsters to gnaw on so as to strengthen their teeth, before we took the bus home… ;))

Thursday 23 Dec 2004: finished watching the second disc of ice rain after brunch. later did my 4R-size card for sensei which would be compiled into a special booklet with all the others’ as a birthday present for him this afternoon. then my parents came home and i had roti prata for dinner. yummy! ;) soon after i headed down to harbourfront and i reached there at 7.20pm. from there i had some problem. i walked to the right after exiting and found that both exits on the right were wrong. then i walked to the left and immediately i found myself in harbourfront shopping centre. called my mum, ailin, hui ling and hui zi and in the end i found out that the whole place had actually been renovated into a different outlook so i couldn’t recognise it. whoa i was so relieved when i found the correct bus stop! soon got onto the bus and after i had alighted someone called me and waved to me at my back. hahah i was sms-ing and thus didn’t see him! it was my friend and together we walked over to tbsc. hah he kept wow-ing when i told him which jc i was going to go for the first 3 months after he asked, and he said it’s his dream school. then later he even thought i was from rgs or something!! heh i was late by 25 mins and reached there at 7.55pm. fortunately they didn’t start any activity yet except daimoku. so i was on time for the gongkyo. ;)) well today’s meeting was quite okay and the dialogues were good. got home with huiling by train and reached home at about 10.30pm. :)

Wednesday 22 Dec 2004: watched this korean movie ice rain that i rented and after watching the first disc i headed down to somerset mrt at 6pm. was the first to reach there and was early by 5 mins, but i had to wait for the other 3 who came 15 mins later. went to take neos at heeren and jean quickly dragged us out of the machine after the shots as she feared that we wouldn’t have enough time to decorate the pics. but we then realised that we had to first select the photos inside the machine before going out and by the time i went in to see i only had time to select 2 out of 6 photos!! arghh. anyway the photos came out alright. :) went into marshe but found that it was full and the queue was really long. so we walked over to takashimaya and looked at some restaurants. woa there were soooo many people queuing up for almost every restaurant (except for this japanese restaurant, maybe ‘cause the food isn’t that very good) and we settled for Breeks!. queued up for about 15 mins before we had our seats but we rejected the table which was meant for 3 people. so this malay family went to dine at it and we could see that it was rather crowded at the table and i guess it would be quite inconvenient when eating. after 2-3 more mins of waiting we finally got our table, and it had the cushion area and at a higher level so we got what we wanted: a nice, cosy environment for a good ambience where we would have our “last” dinner together this year before we break into different schools next year. alethea clarissa and i each had chicken patties melted (with mmm… cheese!) while jean had deep fried chicken in basket (haha the chicken really came in a basket literally!). after our dinner we walked along the street at orchard road to see the x’mas lightings. woa the whole place was very packed and we could almost hardly move properly at areas where there were x’mas exhibitions and performances/skits. alethea said that this year’s x’mas celebrations at orchard were organised by the churches in s’pore. soon we reached orchard mrt and while waiting for the train to come clarissa suddenly said “let’s cry”. hahah. everyone just called her siao. got onto the train and jean and i parted with the other 2 at dhoby ghaut. well take care peeps and keep in touch!! ;)))

Tuesday 21 Dec 2004: my aunt came to my house in the morning and together we set off for parkway parade. we had malay food for lunch and my black pepper chicken with rice was nice. the curry was good too! tastilious!! ;) and my dad also liked his roti prata there! whoa there were sales everywhere and we bought sooo many things! i bought 2 skirts and a jean, as well as a pair of sneakers. :))) my aunt also bought a number of stuff too. we almost spent about 200 bucks today!! anyway, had dinner at east coast park and it was so packed! and today’s a weekday! imagine how it’d be like during the weekends! my aunt bought a crab for me for dinner (i had always wanted to eat crabs! it's been some time…) and it was yummy! thanks aunt susan! it's a really fun, enjoyable and satisfying time out today… ;)))))

Monday 20 Dec 2004: jerilyn messaged me in the morning and told me that the score to get into vjc was partial 6. so those who scored 6 points had a 50-50 chance of entering. whoa. really very competitive this year. well later in the day i watched spiderman 2 at night and indeed the show’s better and more thrilling as compared to the first movie. really full of action. very enjoyable. hahah we were saying at the first part where nothing went right for peter parker that he was sucha poor thing. but at last the show ended off well and nice. ;)

Sunday 19 Dec 2004: woa it was an afternoon of non-stop tv again! hahah rented 2 korean movies crazy first love and volcano high, and watched them with my family. the girl in volcano high really looks like a cross between shu qi and barbie hsu. hah but tiffany later said she looked like jeon ji hyun (that girl in my sassy girl). and MORE tv to come at night when i watched love undercover 2 on channel 8. this is the 3rd time miriam yeung actually starred in 3 movies that aired here for 3 consecutive weeks!!! (with one charity show in between so the sunday before this didn’t air any movie) anyway the show was quite nice and we really had an enjoyable weekend. :-)

Saturday 18 Dec 2004: took the bus to geylang to meet desiree, amanda and siti at 3pm and reached cheers 15 mins early! got inside it and waited and the 2 soon came. siti still had not come by 3.15pm so we decided to go into the kaikan first. and soon after we got in siti called to say she was here, so desiree and i went to fetch her in. spent the afternoon (actually it was less than 2 hours) cutting the foil for the phoenixes’ feathers before siti left us while all of us went for dinner at this weird shop that sells only mian xian!! so i ate the hotdog bun i brought while the others didn’t really like their mian xian. we decided to settle in that shop only because all the other food stalls didn’t have enough seats for so many of us in the group. after dinner we took bus 151 down to PA for training…

Friday 17 Dec 2004: woke up at 9.30 today but came out of bed at 10.10. hah and i almost immediately went to switch on my com and logged into the moe website to get my posting results. yay i got into the school of my choice! vjc!! :))) then kimberly soon called just as i started to have my breakfast. she told me that jerilyn wasn’t able to get into vjc, so i guess the cut-off point (with bonus points) to enter was 6. called ho ying and she also got in. :) [well i was pretty sure that she could go in cos her score was good] heard from her that many of our friends got into schools of their 2nd choice. well, many went to acjc, mjc and srjc. well i hope everyone, or at least most of them, will be happy with the school they are posted to. was also glad that jerilyn felt better and more consoled when i told her some stuff about tjc. ;)

Thursday 16 Dec 2004: watched new police story in the morning with my family. it’s really an action-packed movie and it was quite good. had lunch, and my parents and sis later went out for shopping while i stayed at home. ate my own dinner and i headed down to PA by 7pm. reached there in time but after a 10-minute plus walk from the bus stop (i then found out that it would be shorter if i had dropped at the bus stop before it) i was about 3 mins late. got there and the rest were already doing some warm-up. joined in and pei qi was late cos she had to work. amanda and desiree had dinner and were also slightly late. anyway, our group 5 trainer hui zi told us that there would be 4 steps of 8 cut off so we had 8 steps of 8 left. practised the dance steps over and over again (so many times!) that pei qi and i felt a little giddy after that due to all the turnings. then we also practised formations 1-3, before we had this social dance. i only heard of the song but not the dance!! so i didn’t really know how to go about it. this dance requires the girls to dance with the guys and then keep changing partners, with everybody forming a circle. haha once i just let go of this guy’s hand as i thought we had to changed and he looked at me! hah this is because i didn’t know about the dance steps properly and so i didn’t really do some more steps before going to the next person!! *gees* then 2 of them were kind of shy (or so i thought) so i ended up introducing myself first after waiting for some time instead of them doing so! hahah… anyhow, we soon ended the session and amanda, desiree and i went to mac’s as they wanted to have ice-cream. took the bus home and reached home about 11pm. heh my mum actually called me on the bus reaching home and asked why so late…haha…well we had fun, laughter and joy that day… ;)))))

Tuesday 14 Dec 2004: had breakfast, then took the train down to novena to meet alethea, clarrisa and jean at 12.30pm. boarded a taxi to mediacorp tv station to catch top fun, and we crapped and made some noise there while we waited for quite some time as the ticket man came late. after everything and settling down and again some more waiting the show finally began at 3.15pm. (so we had waited for about 2 hours since we got there) anyway we were sitting opposite the 4 judges (including pan lingling, huang shinan [haha alethea later said he was very “man”] and mc king) and the audience who were able to vote during the show. oh man the stage was so run-down and un-glamour. it only looked nice on tv all thanks to the lightings and effects. and throughout the show our butts were hurting and aching ‘cause 1) the chair wasn’t good and it was very uncomfortable sitting on it, and 2) the chair (kind of a bench with some thin cushioning) was not long enough so the 4 of us had to really squeeze in together (and it was meant for 4!!!) so when we switched places to be fair after the interval all of us felt the “experience” of how it was sitting at the sides and on the verge of falling off. the two hosts for this episode are mark lee (who was super thin) and jack neo, who was not very entertaining and funny. mark lee fared better, but i still think jacky wu is still a head above him. there were 3 little children performing and all of us had hoped that this girl wearing a santa claus hat and a rope who danced and sang would win, and she did! yay! ‘cause she was the only one out of the 3 who was the most child-like. the second child was in pri.5 but she danced an english song in a way that made her look not very much like a child. but i must say she actually shaked and danced well. potential dancer. then later when she said she wanted to be an actress next time jack neo asked her to act a scene with mark, and even asked her to try crying. in the end she ended up laughing at mark who was simply trying to be funny. i mean it was quite hard for her and other kids to just cry like that right? then jack asked pan lingling to try it out and true enough, he said he saw some tears in her eyes in about half a minute. there's this other segment where the 3 contestants had to impersonate their singers. well everyone felt that only the 3rd one was nearest to his singer. and the singers are always aaron kwok!! even for the previous show i watched on tv. well, overall the show was quite okay and alethea really enjoyed it. however it was a little strained ‘cause the hosts somehow had to keep to the show and not fool around (only during the breaks where they really crapped). and all of us felt that this lady in charge of all the organisation and stage work was rather strict with them and most of the time allowed no nonsense, and she would sometimes yell when they did some things wrongly. whoa. the show ended at about 6.15pm (3 hrs later) and alethea learnt that today’s show would be aired in january.

Wednesday 15 Dec 2004: went with my mum to auntie agnes’ house for some facial. wahah it was my first time and wasn’t familiar with all the procedures. well she cleared some spots and gave me a face mask treatment after that. and i really felt refreshed after that. ;) then we took some bite there before taking the bus to compasspoint as my mum had to meet someone. after that we had chicken spaghetti and ice coffee for dinner at the library before we headed home. :)))

Monday 13 Dec 2004: took the bus to white sands mall to meet siti at 2pm. her sis also came along. then we took a bus down to her house and we walked to a nearby supermarket to buy some ingredients. i bought some crabsticks and seaweed as we were making sushi. made sushi and we really laughed a lot that afternoon. hahah the first one i made fell apart ‘cause the rice wasn’t sticky enough!! then siti added more rice to make it more lumpy and it was better after that. also learnt how to make pineapple tarts from siti’s granny and she’s really nice!! she’s an expert in making these, among many other kinds of food stuff. just after our tarts were baked my parents came at 6+ to fetch me home. whoa the tarts were really good!! yummy! :)

Sunday 12 Dec 2004: watched 2 korean movies the cool guy and my tutor friend this afternoon with my family. woa the translation for the former had sooo many vulgarities!! (you know, they keep saying the f-word) so much difference compared to the other typical korean drama weepies!! and more violence. anyway it was so-so although the lady at the rental shop previously said that the show was very nice. tutor friend was better and it’s nice watching kim ha-neul’s shows. hahah my dad said that she’s got this x-factor. the man in the show’s not bad too. and whoa he has a good, well-built physique man. later i found on the internet (i was surfing on the net and was looking into the korean movie industry which was very much booming now) that he was voted the man with the best body. and the girl he is co-starring with in this new korean movie love, so divine now showing on theatres (ha jiwon) was also voted the woman with best body. well anyway we also watched breaking news (tiffany’s bro borrowed it) at night. the show is just so-so. and throughout it was just policemen against the robbers at the same scenes. really low budget. that's why i don’t borrow many hong kong movies nowadays. korean ones rather. hahah. =P

Saturday 11 Dec 2004: met hui jing and 2 others at aljunied mrt at 1250. got there super early at about 1230 and while waiting for amanda to arrive there was this man who claimed to be an ex-convict and needed some money for his trip to pasir ris, which required him to change 2 buses. and he asked in a rather demanding manner and wanted $5 at first but settled for $3.50. so 2 of my friends just gave him the money. later this old man came to us and told us that that man kept going around asking people for money. true enough, we soon saw that man walking about the mrt station asking around. and after he left one person he stopped limping! his bruises on his legs also looked very realistic! oh wadeva. it just tells us to be more careful of such humans next time. we basically cut some foil to make them look like features for the phoenixes that afternoon at geylang for chingay. and once when we (four of us) wanted to go out to buy some snacks the ics asked one big-sized man to follow us (like some bodyguard) as they felt that area was quite dangerous. bought 2 buns at cheers and one ice-lemon tea drink for one of the helpers there as he helped us dry our wet socks (it was raining heavily just now as we walked there). did our gongyo at 4+ and we took a car ride to PA instead of having to walk there. ;)) was treated to some hokkien mee which i shared with amanda ‘cause we were quite full. and i didn’t have to run as part of the warm-up cos i told them i had just eaten and was full. oh and this instructor almost pulled me out that day cos she said i danced well! i was kind of shocked cos i had missed some steps here and there. fortunately i managed not to go in front after i repeatedly refused. practised the same dance steps today, and played the squirrel-tree-hunter-fire-earthquake game (dunno what’s the name) before rounding up the day’s session. :) also watched blue and big fish that night…

Friday 10 Dec 2004: met siti and her little sis (5 yrs old) at cityhall at 2.50pm. it was supposed to be at 2.30 but i couldn’t get past the mrt entrance due to some problem with my card and i had to deduct some money for my previous ride as it was not deducted properly. so i missed my train and was therefore late. then we headed to hmv and i heard the songs in this korean cd entitled youme and the songs were good! there are no singers in this album yet the songs can still be great. walked over to marina square to catch spongebob and friends at 3.55pm and we thought we would be early as the show would start at 4, but when we got there there were already so many kids who had filled up the seated space at the centre right in front of the stage. after watching the show for a while we went to delifrance where siti and her sis had their tea break. then we walked to suntec and after spending some time at tower records we left for sengkang. siti and her sis had their dinner at the halal food court there while i took some popiah. also borrowed some books and i realized i had forgotten to bring my library card! but i found out that i could also actually use my ezlink card too. spent some time listening to siti’s sis reading her children’s storybook and siti reading to her sis (all the books were by dr. suess) before we head back home. we also went into the cc to say hi to my mum before they took their bus back. then later that night siti called to tell me that just after a few stops her sis was very urgent so they had to get down the bus for her to pee. and her sis quickly stood up when the flashlight of a car shone onto her! upon reaching her sis again had to go. they alighted at their house and she didn’t want to pee behind the void deck as she saw some teenage boys playing cards nearby even though siti assured her that no one would be looking. in fact i burst out laughing when i heard all these!! =P they couldn’t take the lift up as siti told me the pressure in the lift would make her sis more urgent. that's why (she said) many people couldn’t control and they go in the lift. and when they got home her sis quickly ran into the house and rushed into the loo with her shoes on!

Thursday 9 Dec 2004: watched the korean movie too beautiful to lie in the morning and when it almost ended siti called to inform me that desflin was leaving singapore for jakarta today in the evening. so we decided to cancel our exercise session at pasir ris park to see her off. reached dhoby ghaut mrt at 2.10pm and i thought i was late. but all the others hadn’t reached yet!! then serene came 20 mins later, amaria came 10 mins after her. and siti arrived at 3!!! couldn't believe that i had actually waited for 50 mins for her! her reason: she stopped by the pasar malam at pasir ris with her mum for some food. oh and she was also stopped by a security officer who apparently mistook her for a terrorist and asked her to show him her bag. well maybe it was because she was carrying a big bag with her so she somehow looked suspicious? anyway, just a couple of steps walking into dhoby ghaut we all turned back as amaria insisted that we would be late if we wanted to get to changi by 4.15. so we left the place and took the train down to changi. AND we WEREN’T late. oh wadeva. got to the airport terminal 1 from the skytrain at terminal 2. well i guess this was the first time i took the skytrain! ;) walked around near gate 2 and took some photos before desflin came. after she checked in and stuff we took photos with her and she even treated us all to a drink. thanks desflin! she wouldn’t be coming back to singapore anymore, and we kept waving goodbye to her after she went by the departure gate. after that siti and i kept walking around the place to find her delifrance but we just couldn’t find it even though the food directory showed that it was at terminal 1. and we actually took the lift dunno-how-many times that once we got into this u-lu area and couldn’t get out from the lift lobby! there i tried to open one of the doors surrounding the place and soon as i found that it was locked i found 2 policemen guarding the room inside!! arghh. then we got back to the lift and at another point after we got out of the lift this officer stopped the man behind us and asked where he had come from. yikes. so we quickly got out of the place and headed to terminal 2. still couldn’t find delifrance and when we asked this lady at a shop she told us that it was at terminal 1! *???* in the end siti accepted the fact and we had dinner at BK (it made us both so full!) before taking the bus back home… :)))

Monday 6 Dec 2004: talked to siti on the phone in the late morning and she asked if she should drop by my place cos she was going to her cca friend’s house which is near school to pass her something. so we decided to we try baking pastries that day! she came at about 2pm and we started by looking at her cookbook and considered some recipes. finally decided to make a sponge cake, chicken pies and swiss roll. wahaha the first sponge cake we made did not manage to rise! and so did the second one! maybe it was because we didn’t use self-raising flour…so in the end we used the two flat “sponge cakes” as pancakes and put them together, with our own cream filling in between! i also went to cold storage to buy some icing sugar for our cream, butter and eggs. was so surprised that 7-eleven didn’t have much of this bakery stuff!! the only useful thing i saw there for our baking was the honey. haha… and the $5 i brought with me was just enough to pay for the stuff at cold storage (cos they amounted to $4.85) !! anyway, for the chicken pies, i opened my can of chicken in mushroom sauce and another can of button mushrooms which i then sliced. mixed them together, made the pastries, into the oven, and there’s our very own chicken pies!! ;))) the first swiss roll we made was okay, though it didn’t really look like those that you see selling outside. for the second roll we added cocoa powder so the whole thing was brown. but when it rose in the oven one part of it at one side rose quite differently so it protruded and the whole thing look like an alien object just descended on earth! yeeks… then because i didn’t loosen the sides of it and just tried to turn it over into a plate, the whole stuff just fell off suddenly and i didn’t have time to manage to catch that slippery, slimy stuff from slipping off the plate onto the floor!! arghhh~ anyhow, we had a fun time that afternoon and we enjoyed the icing in the pastries very very much!! yummy! :) also watched the classic which i rented with my family that night. a really touching and greatly acted korean story by my dad’s favourite actress, son ye jin. ;))

Sunday 5 Dec 2004: basically watched my big fat greek wedding and mean girls at home with my family this afternoon. also saw this korean movie please teach me english, which was very boring and unsatisfying, on friday. then i walked to ntuc to meet tiffany at about 4.30pm. hah i was quite on time but she was late. so i went into ntuc to buy some stuff and i still had to wait for her after that cos she also went in to buy things! haha… anyway, i passed the vcds and her belated birthday present to her and we decided to walk down to vision atlantius to borrow MORE vcds!! ;) so we borrowed big fish, blue, too beautiful to lie and the classic. watched the sunday channel 8 movie on miriam yeung and daniel wu (love undercover) at 8pm. haha it’s quite funny and enjoyable! :)))

Wednesday 8 Dec 2004: met desiree in bus 62 and we together headed to PA. oops i was quite late and missed the bus (so i had to wait like almost 15 mins for the bus!). sorry! anyhow, it was the first time in 3.5 years since we last met in 2001 for our ycf trainings!! oh and she said i looked different. anyway we met her friend amanda outside PA when we got there and i guess this two dancers were able to catch up with the previous steps taught the last session. for today we learnt 8 more steps of 8, so now altogether we have 12 steps of 8…

Tuesday 7 Dec 2004: got up at about 9, had our breakfast and my aunt came at around 10 plus in the morning. waited for quite some time for a taxi and we headed to yio chu kang mrt station. there, we took the train to kranji and boarded bus 170 to get to johor. well basically we shopped the whole day (whole afternoon) at city square and really bought lots of stuff. got my 2 skirts and a nice sling bag. ;) the shopping mall was really huge! we almost spent 2 hours in just the first 2 floors!! and the shops are mainly owned by individuals who set them up themselves, unlike many of those here that are all franchised in many other parts of the world (such as U2, Bossini etc. which you’d always see everywhere here). took a break and we had new york cheesecake, chocolate mousse and durian cake (which was the best!). tastilious! :) shared fish & chips with my mum for dinner while my dad and aunt had rice with fish, before we headed back to s’pore… :-)

Saturday 4 Dec 2004: my parents drove me to PA at 6pm and we first took our measurements soon after i got there. hahah when my turn was next and i saw this man measuring some boy’s body here and there i somehow wondered if he would also check us like that. then when it was our turn pei qi and i were like pushing each other to go, and the man told us: aiyah you all will go to the lady one lah, i won’t check you one. haha i think he must have thought what we two were thinking too!! =P settled in the auditorium to see a little clip of this year’s chingay. also got into our permanent groups today. we learnt 4 steps of 8 today too. had a fun time. :)

Tuesday 30 Nov 2004: clarissa came at about 11am and soon we walked to heartland mall’s jean yip to rebond our hair. after that tian yun came and all of us walked back to my house. grabbed some bite while they didn’t eat much for lunch. we got dressed up at 4+ and my mum helped me on my make-up. she also touched up a little on tian yun’s face too! clarissa didn’t want at all. yeps so we took a taxi down to marina mandarin hotel and met ho ying and serene there. jennifer came soon after and we almost couldn’t recognise her! there’s also another school (mixed) having their prom on the first level. hahah talked a little and soon the manager around there kept asking us to take the lift up so as not to block the way at the entrance area. so we decided to move over to the lift lobby and guess what, we continued talking over there! haha… anyway after a while we went up to level 5 to meet the rest. took some photos before we all went into the room. took MORE photos in there and everyone was simply snapping away while the teacher was asking us all to settle down. after the principal gave a short speech the first dish (cold dish) came in with style as some pupils served the tables with the music. then we had our ms cambridge contestants parading in!! well our people at our table could really eat man. heard that in previous years some tables had dishes that were untouched or that very few people ate a lot, but for us this year it was different. many tables, including ours, had all the food finished, and there was this roasted chicken dish that wasn’t all finished at first and transferred to a smaller plate, and these were soon eaten up later! hahah. had our lucky draw and trixia and diane at our table won some prizes. haha alethea and i were like hearing many numbers that were very close to ours but were just not it! mine was 147, and there were winning numbers like 144, 145 and 148!?! same goes for alethea, siti and a few others. oh and later siti went up to collect a prize, but i found out that it was actually for ho ying. and when i went over to her table she told me that ho ying didn’t want to share the prize with her, and she shouldn’t have gotten up to get it for her while she was at the ladies. anyhow seetal won the pageant!! hurray for 4A1!! cheers! ;)) i guess she won mainly because she could speak well and was quite poised in her punjabi. oh yar our class seems to have the most people present for the night. after the class photo at the stage and everything, diane, trixia, jenn rong, tiffany, kimberly and i walked to the nearby esplanade to take photos. wahah my feet were sorta aching as we walked ‘cause i wasn’t very used to wearing heels. had fun there and soon my mum came. she helped us take a few shots and tiff and kim took a ride in with us home… really had a great time that night. ;)))

Monday 29 Nov 2004: went out with my family to suntec city to celebrate my dad’s birthday. had our lunch at olio dome…wow, it’s been some time since we ate there! had two set of meals: 2 pizzas (including one seafood), 2 brownies and 2 soups (one seafood and one tomato, which is also the soup of the day). we were also treated to a hazelnut cheesecake since we had a birthday boy with us. :) the food was just so yummy! =P then we went about shopping and my mum went to somewhere else. but after a while i had stomach cramps. oh man it was so uncomfortable and it gradually got worse. drinking some coffee didn’t help too. and after resting on a bench for a while it got slightly better, but later as we walk back to the carpark i would feel a little dizzy after a short distance and i had to sit down again. i only got better when i rested for a while at home. ;) had our early dinner (chicken rice) at 5 plus and we also cut the birthday cake! mmm blackforest with berries in it. fresh cream and yummy cherries!! and we finished the whole cake!! :))) haha… and later at night we watched episodes 33-36 of triumph in the skies…wah the show’s going to end soon…and it’s a great show man! ;))

Saturday 27 Nov 2004: went to meet tiffany at mac’s to pass her the vcd (13 going on 30…quite a nice show) before taking the bus to meet clarissa and jean at a bus stop in front of the pasir ris mrt line. hah was early by 15 mins and was there at 10.45am when i thought that i would be late! clarissa came about 4 mins past 11 while jean was 10 mins late. haha she kept blaming the bus for coming so late and that she had waited for so long. well i guess she just missed the bus. anyway, got to white sands shopping mall as jean wanted to buy her shorts and the both of them bought some nuggets to fill their stomachs. then took the bus down to wild wild wet and by the time it was already 12. went to the big purple slide first and the man in charge asked me if i could take off my blouse, but he still allowed me to go down with it lah. and later this lady in charge on the yellow slide just on the other side didn’t allow us to go down with our blouse. see the difference…men are generally more flexible…well here’s another instance: we wanted to rent a float but we didn’t put in money into our funky card, so we weren’t able to pay for anything. but this man in charge at the rental booth called to check for us and he lent us a float for free! couldn't believe it at first…too good to be true, that’s what probably came to our minds then. also lined for a while at the queue for the v-shaped ride. well it was clarissa who lined up for us most of the time, and jean and i would go and have a dip in the water to cool off in the hot sun. we even had fun at the tsunami and its series of waves during the wait! anyway since there were 3 of us, i was left to wait while clar and jean went up with the float for the ride first. then i would allow the people behind me to go first until the two finished their ride. however after waiting for quite some time and about 3 pairs had gone up, the two still hadn’t come yet. then i saw them coming down by the stairs (and not coming to me after their slide down) carrying the float. and i found out that they had some problems with the two men in charge upstairs who kept insisting that they didn’t have the right seating posture. so jean decided to come down. then, a little nervous, i went up with clarissa for our ride. met kimberle on our way up too!! talked and chatted a little and found that she was going to hcjc. well in the end she was too afraid to take the ride so she didn’t go for it. she was there actually to see other people taking the ride at first but decided not to go for it. the two men in charge wanted the both of us to seat such that our bums wouldn’t touch the holes in the float. and our legs had to cross one another and we had to seat so closely together! what an awkward seating arrangement!! but nevertheless, we tried to follow their instructions and in the end we managed to get it all right…then the time has come…i was more afraid than before and the men pushed us down and ahhhhhh!!! i just screamed all the way down, and when i saw myself going down so steep a slope that my body was almost facing the ground!! but i guess this scary part was only for about a second or so, but i kept screaming all the way even in the less scary rocking of the float around the v-shaped slope or slide. and somehow i was a bit proud of myself for having been able to get through this “ordeal”!! haha…and i think those people nearby would have heard my screams!! =P well the tsunami and shiok river were the 2 most enjoyable parts for us. we enjoyed about 4 series of waves and even almost lost our float in the sea of people!! haha we were glad we managed to find it in the end after swimming about. and i almost got a fright when at the first time i was there i swam right up to very near the deep end and when i wanted to touch the ground, i was submerged!! oh man how scary THAT was!! then i saw that the depth at that part of the pool was 1.8m! quickly swam away…we also enjoyed chatting at the pool and tried several times to sit down in it but dunno why the water didn’t allow us to do so!! really felt soooo relaxed then. even stopped for a while and sat at the shallow part of the pool (it really seemed like a beach there!!) to chat with kimberle. as for the shiok river, the first time we tried going on it with all 3 of us sitting on the float it was horrible and terrible!! just after we managed to sit on the float the artificial currect brought us away from the shallow part and down the river! then soon after jean kept complaining that her leg was very pain because of our awkward seating arrangement and we decided to flip over to get out of the float. then we had such a great time swimming, talking, moving with the current in the river that in the end we went through the whole river for FOUR times!! haha…well we didn’t sit the ular-lar big slide and yellow slide that day. guess it’s all about the same as the purple one that we sat for the first thing we were there. and that day was the first time in years…maybe at least 5 years…that i last swam!! haha…had a bath there with jean’s soap and shampoo and I felt really great! then we took a bite at kfc at around 4.30pm (so we were there for about 4.5 hours) before heading home for dinner…tata~
