i should be in lt1 attending econs lect now, but here i am at home, recovering from some mild flu. didn't feel too well since the end of last week, but still went to sch yesterday because i had physics spa. oh my it was a complete disaster. can u believe it.. i actually spent one whole hour trying to get that -!!!- set up done but somehow it just couldn't work. ARGHH. the string across the pulley kept sliding off, or the ruler would keep hitting the pulley and stuff like that. at one time i nearly didn't know what i was doing! =S and i was bad at handling the retort stands yesterday too. and as the clock in front of me ticked towards the end of the session and with him standing around the whole time, the anxiety and frustration in me just rose exponentially. when it was just a few mins before time was up i had no choice but to make use of the few results that i got and crap the whole thing out. goshh. and as i wrote abt the "precautions" i took and stuff i could feel his glare and disapproval above me. he must have been exasperated with me i guess.


was still overcome with the "shock" in me that i couldn't help it soon after. that's my worst pract i ever had. =/ how could i not even set up the expt properly?!? what is this..


anyway, i slacked ard the icomp room after that 'cos we thought of discussing our gp groupwork after the chi lesson for the rest. but soon many left and in the end almost nothing was done. 'almost' since we like only checked up two difficult words? heh

so the rest of the time was spent looking at ivan's digi photos and bumming ard. saw how some vs ppl changed or have not changed since their sec sch days. and my he really has tonnes of photos! but the percentage of those with him in them are like.....? lol. and i think it's pretty cool to just go out (perhaps in the evening or sth), enjoy the night view with your buddies and capture those beautiful sights of the city.. :))

ndp review today. went to sun plaza at tamp central at 2plus and we had a rehearsal. from then on we didn’t do much till ard 6, when the blocks had their own dialogue session after some practising of the dance steps. well our block took a significant amt of time to do so as practically almost everyone went up in front of the group to say sth. so in the end we didn’t have time to eat and with the limited number of packets to go ard we had to go perform “with an empty stomach”. oh nvm. better than feeling so full up dere rite? haha


anyway i was in the 3rd tier so the two rows of us were the ones up dere not just on stage [yeah there’s others who were on the ground performing], but on the platform :)) cool... it was also quite fun to be performing in front of the cameras and film crew. hahas. well fiona xie and vincent ng weren’t here today, although i heard gurmit singh’s voice and his fellow female host [couldn’t really tell who she was] from our tent..


so yeah, the review was good today. plus the cool weather too. lol. just that it was uber muddy all ard the place. yikes. oh and the costumes that the gals had today were better than those for ycf. hahah. well somehow i still feel that the energy level’s much greater in chingay. yes. it definitely was. it was very happening.. and everyone was so hyped up and stuff.. u guys should really experience it ;))

Friday 29 July 2005: college day yesterday. we were all dismissed at 1210 to rehearse for the arrival of the grand entrance of mr tharman shanumugaratnum. lol mr seet was pronouncing it as what sounded like sugar-ratnum at first. wahaha. then after the practice of standing along the whole stretch of road we were let off from sch! yays. so van sm brianna isa and terry played cards as we waited for some of the computing ppl and icompers [zm ivan joel] to settle some stuff, before we headed down to ps to catch the island. lol we call it a "gp outing" cos ch'ng was the one who recommended us the show. ahhaha.


well if u think war of the worlds was quite disgusting at some parts (yeah all the blood vessels and stuff), u should see how gory this show was. there's this part where the person in-charge of all the clones inserted this instrument into the lead actor (ewan mcgregor) so as to know about what he's been thinking. oh my it went right into some part of his eye, thru' it, and into his brain i think. couldn't bear to see this part, so i concentrated on finishing up my fries. lol. and he was practically ouch-ing all the way. urggghhh. and there was also the part where they "revive" the clones, as though they just "survived" from the "contaminated world".. eekks from the outside of the bag containing the human u could already see something full of blood and stuff. then when they open the bag and tell the human to "breathe! breathe!", i reckon it was just grotesque. i think. cos i gave this part a miss again.


anyway this show is highly recommended! rather meaningful. similar to wotw in a way that both centre around humanity and stuff like that. but this one, other than all the many horrid and sadistic parts, suggests what makes humans human. and it's the emotions and feelings of human nature that are truely the essence of humankind? also, clones may be clones, but they definitely do deserve the right to live and not be used as "insurance policies" for their "sponsors" in their bid to play god and live a few more decades (like 60-70 more years). oh btw i guess everyone would agree that lincoln three echo's act was indeed commendable when he took the great risk to return and save all his fellow clone friends. and we could see the significant difference between humans and the clones in the show, that is the latter are much more naive and innocent in thinking since they weren’t exposed to the worldly desires and vices etc, as compared to the former, who can "do anything just to live".


haha the show was slightly more than two hours long, and we had to rush back to college as all of us had to assemble at 615pm. so we decided to hail a taxi and we walked to the meridien hotel [or sth like that, i forgot], where we finally managed to get a taxi. and it wasn't just a taxi. it was a white maxicab. lol. so kewl right. just nice for the 8 of us. ahhhaha. and we managed to reach sch in abt 15 mins. see.. we can do it!! =D


well after welcoming and all the year ones and some year twos [so many gave it a miss.. so u could barely see any of them ard] we went back to the hall [to watch the ceremony happening in the pt], where everyone started congregating into their "gambling" clusters. lol. and mr seet was also in the hall when they were doing so very openly. ahhaha. rare sight. heh we also brought in snacks and drinks too ;) hee..


wahahah at one point as mr t.s was making his speech [while those in the hall were either playing cards or stoning or slacking or listening to their mp3s], ivan said that he looked as though a mower or sth just went across his head. LOL =D


anyways after the performances/concert in the pt [where the actual event was] ended, there were the mass dances. haha stayed for the first two dances before heading to the concourse to oversee the pe members playing the piano to create some ambience over dere. then we had com mtg till 1030pm. haha. discussed about some pointers about the recent concert and stuff. basically the aftermath.


as for today, sch officially starts at 915am. and since it's our break then our class was able to come at 950 instead. =) left halfway during pw to attend the concert debrief at 230. brought up what we've discussed the night before with mr ku chan ks and the year twos. yes.. we're heading for improvement! yups.. then he told me [twice somemore..] that i could perhaps start preparing for next year's concert. wahaha. okays.. no prob la.. but i guess the priorities now would be the end-of-year concert, open house as well as preparing for the music awareness sessions. busy busy busy..

haha then we had our first official com mtg after that. we wanted to get things done so we came up with this "policy" to write down the number of times each of us spoke sth irrelevant. lol. and yanning had her number increasing the most. ahhahas. oh my all of us really had to suppress the crap inside our heads, and as we did so i found that i would be trying to hold back all those irrelevance during the discussion. hee.. so when we were moving over to the piano room to continue the mtg we blurted out all the crap during the "break". hahah. well in the end we stopped the irrelevance thing so that everyone can express his/her ideas freely.. ahaha.. anyhow it's great to be working with the exco peeps. they can really be hilarious and LAME at times.. =P
