Friday 11 Feb 2005: had cross-country this morning. hah i think i ran much better the other time for pe last wednesday! ran until i started walking at the overhead bridge on the way back. then i stopped to rest ‘cos i felt a lil’ giddy!! oh man then so many people (u can call it a bunch!) ran past and i stood there resting for quite some time!! haha later when everyone had to stop outside the main gate i simply ran past them and overshot!! aheh i thought we all had to run into the school to our starting point yea. anyways, i was no. 680 when my angel wanted me to try to get into top 400! xy came in at 300+ while tricia was 100+. best is rachel who got under 100 (i think 90+)! oh man that means that i could also have been 300+ ‘cos i ran with xy that day during pe! and isabel would come in 100+ since she could run with tricia that day too!! anyhow, the gals then waited for the guys to run back as we were all drinking gatorade that were given to us, and many were cheering when the first few started running back to the finishing point. i saw that my angel came in at around no. 60. he actually wanted to get top 45 placing from last year’s top 50+ …hope that he’ll take it well! ahahah all the guys were running very fast…so this pe teacher told them to “relax…slow down…don’t have to impress the gals…” haha. later we all assembled in the hall and my friends and i were hoping that we won’t win the lucky draw (they would call out your no., that’s why…heh) as they picked the lucky winners to win prizes sponsored by new balance, jean yip etc. oh jean yip and her husband were the guest-of-honours today. there were sling bags by new balance, grooming packages by jean yip, pairs of movie tickets, incredibles umbrellas ++ that were given out. also had mass dance and elma vanessa jeslyn isabel & i soon left for ps. the 3 of them went to carrefour first to buy some chocs while isabel and i went around to look for other possible things to buy for v-day. couldn’t find anything and we met the 3 at mac’s to lunch. they left and isabel and i decided to go carrefour to also buy chocs for our classmates and friends. heh isabel later told me that there were these 2 guys who were following us ‘cos she heard from inside the ladies that one of them said “it’s the toilet lah” and they wanted for some time outside before they left. haha…oh wadeva. we headed down to orchard to find the adidas shop. walked to pacific plaza but couldn’t find the deodorants, so the lady there told us to try isetan, heeren or lucky plaza. isetan didn’t have them too…and we walked to heeren and finally found them! i bought one for my angel while isabel would buy the orange type at parkway since they don’t have it at heeren. ahah met some vj people today too. well, not that we knew them…we saw this couple holding hands at ps (isabel said they saw us and then held hands! omg…what is this??)…then 5 other groups of peeps at orchard. heh it’s really easy to spot since we were all wearing our pe t-shirt around. hmm…still gotta find something for my mortal. dunno what’s suitable for him yet. haha. anyway, can’t wait to catch up with “old friends” tomorrow! yays!! ;)))

Wednesday 9 Feb 2005: Happy Chinese New Year everyone!! ;)) stayed back on monday after school to paint our house banner. many of our classmates didn’t join us due to cca or tuition, but that’s another thing. we walked down and somehow the guys behind “disappeared”!! so isabel jeslyn elma and i started on the banner. then our senior told us that she called one of the guys to come and they said they would, but they never came!! well the banner turned out much³ better than our cny one! and we completed it in less than 2 hrs! just the four of us! moral of the story: too many cooks spoil the broth. haha. and we were all so satisfied at our finished work and really had a sense of achievement! :) later at the bus-stop rachel saw us and told us that she saw some of the guys at the canteen and she told them to come and help us. ……really don’t know what to say about some of them!! anyways, we had cny celebration in sch yesterday. there were 7 items and one mini-contest on calligraphy and gorging on mandarin oranges. heh. i guess the highlight of the day would be the mass dances!! haha i was wondering how would the whole sch manage to dance in the hall, but it turned out okay lar, just that we all had to squeeze a lil’. heh and we could only do whiny whiny and neutron properly. as for the other dances many of us juniors were like “???”…really unsure of the steps!! anyway, we had fun then.. after that the various sch pple would come together and do their sch cheers…especially vs! just see their spirit manz! then our sch couldn’t really do our cheer since there were so few of us, and when kahei tried to start a cheer it was just so weird and awkward!! and i later heard from ho ying that someone passed by and asked what we were doing?!?! anyhow, we took a cab down to the sec holding sch after that. we didn’t get to talk to mrs lum since she was busy with her student. hah some of us were like saying she’s always asking us to “wait girls…i'm busy right now..pls wait..” saw thomson and ms wong, and soon after we all headed to café cartel to lunch. ate the set lunch, talked and stuff. basically caught up with “old friends”. heh. but many of MY friends weren’t there…yeps. but nevertheless, there were 19 of us there and it seemed like a half-of-the-class gathering (since it’s exactly half the class there). got home at 2pm, bathed and then went for my reunion dinner at 4+… :))

Saturday 5 Feb 2005: school was rather okay this week…haha yesterday we gals were like trying to do the kallang wave during maths and econs tutorials! haha it was just so hilarious manz!! ahaha when they did it the first time i really laughed until my face got red! anyway, tricia, xy, isabel, jeslyn, vanessa and i walked to ECP after school at about 3.30pm since zhun jie told us to meet at pit 31 at 4. aiyah we knew that the seniors would be late but we decided to go there to cycle first. hahah before that we were in class giving names to at least 10 ppl in our class who only had chi names! oh yar we let zhongming be christopher, and later we found out that his self-given eng name was christopher too!! hahaha…so qiao.. well i actually postponed our “reunion dinner” with alethea, clarissa and jean which was meant to be on fri night to make it for today’s JTS (Junior Treat Senior session). anyhow, we (plus some of the guys in our class who came shortly after) cycled from our pit all the way to the other end, then back to the pit, past it, and to the other side until bedok jetty. then we rode back the other way for some distance…so maybe we cycled for 15-20 km yesterday?? haha some of them were “scared” of me whenever i cycled near them ‘cos they were afraid of my “swaying” kinda cycling!! anyway, when we reached the jetty we stayed there for a while, rested and took a breath of the scenery. whoa…looking at the beach and the surrounding buildings BEHIND was super relaxing and distressing! a totally different feeling as compared to being INSIDE those buildings!! (duh!) well anyhow, as expected, the seniors hadn’t arrived by 5pm. we only saw 4 of them rollerblading at 545 and then later zhun jie and some other came along. our class played some card games and later the guys played soccer. oh my i had 3 mosquito bites and it was really terrible! fortunately isabel had her non-itch cream to spare me!! then both of us joined the rest of the gals at the nearby mac’s and we joked and crapped and stuff. hahah tricia was really amused whenever we wanted to play a game and i told them i didn’t know how to! as we were all walking back to the pit from there we played this ‘fuzzy wazzy likes…” game and i finally got the answer!! yays. haha. the bbq soon started when more seniors arrived and we really had very little to eat! here's what I consumed: one crabstick, 1 sausage, 1 stick of marshmallows, some potato, one bite of banana with choc, plus half a banana that i shared with isabel. hahah. and vanessa was shocked when she saw me eating half the banana in one bite! then both started laughing and i almost couldn’t eat my banana! well i didn’t think it was a shocking matter anyway ‘cos the banana was quite small.. after eating we played more card games like poker and heart attack…and later the seniors and us juniors sat in a circle to play games like catching the couple that broke into the circle, doing to your partner on your right what u just did to the bottle and dog n bone. hahah jun jie’s forfeit was to get into the big bin! and he really did!! ..while xumao had to pole-dance. yeps. left at 1020 and thanks to jeslyn whose mom came to fetch us home! ;))) oh and i didn’t go for chingay practice on wed 2 feb ‘cos i decided to rest. we ran 3.4km that morning (maybe it’s more like 3.2 instead since we went back into the school by the side gate at the tennis court). the going was better than ever for me during the run this time round since i ran throughout and only walked a few steps (at the horizontal part of the overhead bridge when coming back). woa…really felt a sense of achievement! well, it was so much better as compared to our 2.4 back in sec sch when we were all struggling for it! :)) and we’ve been running 3.2 for 2-period PE on every wed, so it’s like having cross-country every week!! that’s why we say u get fitter when u’re in VJ! oh and we had stretching and stuff on the one-period PE on mon 31 jan and i had muscle aches at my thighs for the next 2 days because of my “enthusiasm” in the half-squats! gahhh. then i was really wondering how i would make it for the run on wed with the aches and when i told our pe teacher about it she said “all the more u should run!”. ahaha i was thinking what nonsense that was but it turned out that my legs felt better after the run!! hahas. as for lectures this week, oh man i would sometimes get lost and catch no ball! cheemology. and on tue 1 feb isabel and i accidentally missed maths lecture! i went to the piano room at 11 to practise with natalie our piece and i continued staying there ‘cos i had free periods from 1015-1210 before the lecture. and i thought it starts at some time later or something. so when i checked my timetable again later i was shocked but by the time it was already like 20 mins late so we went outside the library to do our own work instead. oh and we had chem. test yesterday (fri) on mole concept. not really sure about some of the qns. really hope that it’ll turn out okay!!

Sunday 16 Jan 2005: lessons start this week (since mon 10 jan) and we miss orientation and all the fun!! we weren’t in our class for most of the time…walking from one place to another all the time for lectures, tutorials, practicals and breaks. oh man all of us girls in our class kept saying that the class was so quiet during lessons! even some of our teachers commented about that when they were teaching us!! it’s like no one’s talking that u can really hear a pin drop if it did! went for medical soc, strings and co welcome sessions… all on tuesday afternoon. med soc was at 4.15 so i went there first, then i left at nearly 5 for strings and in the middle of it ho ying and i just popped into co for a short while before returning to strings. gahhh everyone in strings knew how to play a strings instrument except us and another girl! so we were very impressed when we saw the auditions… so many of the players played very well! scales were like chicken to them, and when the conductor asked them each to play a score (ho ying said the book was from the esplanade) on the spot they could all play it…and for some of them (esp. this girl) after a quick glance she could just start playing at a really fast speed!! wow. as for thursday ran 2km for PE in the morning. we girls started from school to east coast where the distance was 1km, and after some rest there we ran back to school. after school jas and i did some homework outside the library before we went for piano ensemble meeting at 415. samantha and jessie also went for it. after some introduction to the cca and stuff there was the performance by the year 2s. first it was the twinkle-twinkle-little-star variation which was a 8-hands, meaning it involves 8 players who took turns to play on two grand pianos, 2 at one time. oh my u should really see them play! each of them played fabulously man. there were also this soloist who play a chinese kind of song and it was little wonder why he played solo when u hear how good he is!! 4 items in all, and one of them included 2 guys playing together and during which we suddenly saw one putting his thumb down on a key and in the next moment he dragged it across the keys!! whoa!! and before we could recover from the “shock” he did it again! (3 times in all!!) and it was so very pro! after that we headed for some food and then to the piano room next to the general office, and after staying there for a while i left at 6+. waited for goodness-how-long for bus 31 to arrive and by the time i reached kallang it was around 710. did some maths qns while waiting for amanda to meet me at mac’s. then we shared fish fingers before walking to PA at 830. found out that there was some change in formation and i was like thinking, when i attended every session it was about the same every time, and when i came late that night there was a change (quite a big one even)!! ahh. anyway, after everything we walked to the traffic light and i saw this guy with a friend looking at me and when he walked past me he kept looking even when he was in front of me!! (imagine his posture??) anyhow i walked to the bus stop with chloe while amanda and desiree went to mac’s for supper. waited for even longer than “goodness-how-long” (more than 20 mins i think) for the bus to come.. hahah really spent much time waiting for buses that day. on friday, lessons ended at 1.50 and i walked around with ho ying and sheryl. we sat at this corner of the school which really resembles one part of pl! the tables and chairs are logs and nearby there are the orange flowers that we have in pl. then we talked about jc life and stuff and the two burst out laughing when i suddenly remembered and told them that i had 4 mosquito bites during my econs lecture in the morning. i had 4 on my legs, tricia also had 4 and siew ming also had some (but vanessa didn’t have any!). oh man it was so itchy but it wasn’t very nice to scratch in the lecture. arghh it was terrible! vanessa then said that she heard mosquitoes are attracted to people wearing blue. well, perhaps! back to the laughters…haha ho ying said she hadn’t had a good laugh for some time and the 3 of us had a good time then. after that i met hanisah, and both of us plus bevelin and serene whom we met later chatted at the canteen for quite a while. we also went up to the library and rested (the sofas are super comfy!) before we left for ECP at 5. gahh i really felt cheated of my 8 bucks that night ‘cause i only ate some bee hoon and stuff plus a piece of sausage!! anyway, a few of us went to the rock area near the coast and it was pretty hard to climb up. then after we were up we found that it was harder to come down!! but we managed to do so (carefully) nevertheless! after some time the rest of our flick came and we chatted, walked and later formed a circle at a corner. played electricity (i didn’t play it ‘cos i wasn’t familiar with it and it was so dark to see the hands) and truth-and-dare. haha most of the guys chose dare while we girls chose truth. yong feng had to “declare his love” for jocelyn, timothy had to shout out trojan’s cheer standing on top of a dustbin at another film’s pit, daryl had to go kiss a girl’s hand but in the end he went for a guy’s hand instead, while others had to say if they ever dated or crushed anyone (and who it was if there was anyone) etc. haha wai yip chose truth and he was asked to choose one girl from our flick to shoot and another to marry. he chose to shoot putri ‘cos he felt she was big-sized so there would be enough “food” for everybody?? then when it came to ‘marry’ he actually wanted someone from another group but was restricted to our flick only. so he chose hanisah: reason was because it was the most impossible. ??? then he changed and said my name ‘cos i'm the only girl whom he chatted with online and he doesn’t know the rest. oh wadeva. his reasons are so “reasonable”. ahahah and yay we are having a flick outing next week!! :) woke up really late on saturday and after brunch and bumming around i went out with my parents to queensway to buy a schoolbag. took a quick bite before heading to tbsc for chingay meeting at 6pm. tried on our costumes and they were rather cute and nice! interesting. hmmm u can really feel the stretch, esp. when u do the dance moves. we also learnt how to change “faces” of the costumes and we had to do so really quickly too. had our asd group meeting and discussion downstairs later and we went back upstairs for some testimonial sharing, one by the 5 phoenixes, another by jun hui, and one more by huiling. after the session amanda, desiree and i went for supper at the hawker centre near harbourfront mrt. amanda and i had an egg prata each while desiree ate 2 plain ones. hmmm chingay is coming nearer and very soon, and let’s all pray for it’s success!! ;)))

Saturday 8 Jan 2005 *¤::..y0 go tRojans rawk we cannot lie!!..:: ¤*: had 4 days of orientation in vjc and for the last day on friday it was sea regatta (sea carnival). our theme for the whole orientation was Vollywood 2005. well one of the feelings i got on the first day at school was that so many people had very good scores and the standard’s all about the same (or even better!). well after we registered and took our individual photos we proceeded to the hall for talks on some subjects to brief and introduce us about subject combi. there're 12 of us pl-lites here in vj. 10 are from 4a1, 1 from 4a2 and another from 4b1. so u can see that there aren’t many of us around in the school. changed to our story tee shortly after and we went to our films. my film is Trojan and Theseus is my flick. each film would have to try to obtain as many box-office tickets as possible throughout the whole orientation. so it’s kind of a point system. basically there was much cheering and stuff. we even learnt the vj anthem too! all the 4 stanzas had different tunes each. unique eh. oh and i like the mass dances!! vj has 6 mass dances and so far we’ve learnt 4, and everyone’s the most familiar with the first dance -- whiny whiny. there's also neutron and i want you. the friendship dance is fun too. well just that you’ve got to have an enthu partner. this guy whom i danced with was super shy! hahah. as for the subsequent friendship dances we couldn’t really find “proper” partners as the songs quickly started after we’ve finished dancing another, and most of us settled for girls. ahahah. it's pretty weird lar, ‘cos the girls would have a sorta different set of dance steps. had water games on thursday and there’s this game where we had to protect a set of newspapers from getting wet by another group. hahah i thought i was going to be quite clean throughout as i had managed to steer clear of potential “dangers” for some time, but once i was kinda caught unaware and this unknown person came behind and splashed a bottle of water at the group of us there. haha but only my back was a little wet. we also had to transfer water from a pail at one end to another pail by using anything on yourself. ahaha the guys had to take off their shirts to soak up the water while we used a pair of shoes of somebody who was willing to sacrifice it. then we played this game whereby one person had to direct another who was blindfolded across a grid to the “destination” correctly with the person stepping on any of the grid lines. i was one of those chosen to cross and it was pretty fun! later that day we had Voscar Night, where each film had to put up an item which revolves around the acronym “VJC”. oh man some films really had sick ideas!
as for the sea regatta on friday, we had it at ECP and after drinking milo and taking our group photo we proceeded to our first game. our flick managed to cover quite a number of people in sand (about 14 i think). then after some waiting some of us participated in the captain’s ball game with another og. but didn't get to play it ‘cos there were too many of us. had some treasure hunt and we had to search for pieces of coloured paper among the greens. haha i think no one managed to find the green piece! oh and some of our group mates played in the tug-of-war, standing in the water. and those who fell got really wet! one of the highlights of the day was the jostling competition. wahaha some of the participants were pretty strong despite their build! like for example this guy was just “un-fallable” no matter how much his opponent hit him with the sack! oh and the ultimate winners competed with the teachers too! ahahah heard some people saying that this is the only time when you can hit a teacher! hahas. well in the end the teacher managed to fell off the guy champion! hope everyone enjoyed their orientation yeps!! ;)))
